Implementing an AGV System

Comparing Warranties

Most standard warranties are for 1 year. However, some also include a limit on the equipment hours. If you are running the system for multiple shifts, then limit on hours will probably occur before the 1-year period.

Parts are included in warranties but usually not labor. This is usually not a concern unless you encounter a ‘design’ problem with the equipment. In that case, the AGV supplier should stand behind the product including part replacement, any re-engineering and all labor necessary to rectify the problem. This obviously ties into all the previously discussed issues (financial, technology, reputation, experience, resources and support). To the extent your project incorporates more sophisticated AGV capabilities, you should more seriously consider the impact of these issues on your ability to implement a long-term successful system.
